WordPress version 5.2, named “Jaco” released today, following the tradition this version also named in honor of renowned and revolutionary jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius.
This version comes with many exciting features like Site Health check tool, PHP Error Protection, New Dashboard Icons and many more.
WordPress 5.2 Features :
Site Health Check: Site health feature introduces in WP version 5.1. This release adds two new pages to help debug common configuration issues.
PHP Error Protection: With this release, WordPress 5.2 introduces a new feature of “fatal error protection. This feature lets you safely fix fatal errors without requiring developer time.
Improvements for Everyone
Accessibility Updates: A number of changes work together to improve contextual awareness and keyboard navigation flow for those using screen readers and other assistive technologies.
New Dashboard Icons: Thirteen new icons added in the WordPress dashboard including Instagram, a suite of icons for BuddyPress, and rotated Earth icons for global inclusion.
Plugin Compatibility Checks: WordPress now determine automatically whether the PHP version of your site is compatible with the installed plugins. If the plugin requires a higher version of PHP than the one your site currently uses, WordPress does not allow you to activate it, preventing potential compatibility errors.
